From the Pastor

After today, January is over. There were 5 Sundays in the first month of 2010.

We have enjoyed speaking to you about the new decade and what it will take for you to live the Abundant Life this year and beyond.

Destination 2010 is about you living a life that works. It is about living in the will of God. The will of God always works.

It is about becoming what God has created and redeemed us to be .......Christians!

It is about doing some daily habits that help us in our personal development.

Have you begun practicing the new habits of Bible Study and Prayer?

If not, why not?

If not now, when?

You have to start today! Why? Because tomorrow really never comes. It is always today.

A common proverb of our culture is to never do today what you can put off until tomorrow.

In that case, we never get it done.

Aren't you tired of being in neutral? Are you ready to move forward?

Put the gear in drive and take off! Start your new habits today.

Greatest Events series take a good look at the Jewish celebration of Passover this Sunday Come and See.

Notice how the Greatest Events were done by God but always affected man. We have talked about God literally taking our place on the cross. God then delegated the responsibility of the gospel to those to whom He had taken their place.

Passover is another picture like that.

The actual Passover Event comes from the book of Exodus where the people of God were enslaved in Egypt. Moses had been warning Pharaoh about his refusal to let the people go. After 9 other plagues, God says for the people of God to get ready to permanently leave Egypt.

God delivered them and gave them a picture of their freedom. It took the blood of a lamb.
Death was coming for the firstborn of every family. When the blood of the lamb was applied to the doorpost of the families home, Death would Passover.

The Passover Lamb brought freedom from physical bondage and shadowed the firstborn from death.

Jesus, our Passover Lamb brings freedom from spiritual bondage and shelters everyone with the blood applied from Spiritual Death.

Death is coming. You need the lamb. John the Baptist called Jesus the “lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world”.

Is He your lamb? Or will you deal with death some other way?

Take a moment and let it sink in……………………………………………………………
