Welcome to the Life Groups page!
Life Groups is the Adult Discipleship and Fellowship Ministry at Eastland in Metropolis.
At Eastland, we have a definite game plan for doing the ministry of Jesus Christ.
We have four simple steps.
1. Get them In: this is our evangelistic efforts to bring people to the Lord and to the Church
2. Get them Connected: The work of Evangelism is not finished until the people are Developed into mature believers. We believe that to do this, we must have a real connection with them. The Bible gives examples of mentoring by those who are more mature and even by using groups. We want folks to be able to learn and grow in a community of Believers.
3. Build them Up: When a connection is made, it is then our responsibility to teach them the Bible. During this step, we teach them how to rightly divide the Word of God. We want to show the new believers how to study the Bible for themselves. We also want to help them to discover their giftedness in the Spirit.
4. Put them In: Every believer is gifted by the Spirit of God for the purpose on ministry. This is where we help folks discover their God-given calling and purpose. When that is discovered, we put them in the ministry! We offer coaching, mentoring and encouraging as we go along with them to help them to succeed in their ministries. We don’t want people to be spectators, we want them to join in! This is what God has called the church to do.
Our Life Groups focus on Connection and Discipleship. While Evangelism and Ministry Skills are also stressed, we use these groups to make connections. This is the Adult Teaching ministry of Eastland.
