From the Pastor

Suffice to say, winter time has been here. I like to say it like this, “global warming is about to get us”!
The power has been out but the power of God has been in full operation. Have you noticed that during the hard times, God’s presence is much more sought and wanted? When your daily routine is interrupted, then we get serious about the important things.
Think back now about the issues that many Americans have been complaining about. In the light of the last two weeks, the economy has not been on our minds. In fact, I think it is a testimony to the people of faith that many of us pulled together and leaned on the Lord Jesus and each other in order to get through the tough times. You didn’t hear of protesters crying out “Where’s the president” or something similar. Our governor at the time was declaring a state or emergency but not for us. He was about to lose his job!
Honestly, I can say that I don’t understand why the ice storm happened. In my very limited understanding I keep thinking, “why not just snow?” But I can come to the conclusion that God is in control and He knows what He is doing! Truth is, the world in under the curse of sin and that simply brings with it severe consequences.
So for the Christian, the believer in Christ, the crisis simply is something that God uses to grow us. No one would want to ‘sign up’ for this kind of thing but in reality these types of things are necessary for us to become transformed into the image of Jesus. And that is our goal in life.
Today we say together that “God is Good, all the time”. The song we like to sing says
Every blessing you pour out I’ll, turn back to praise.
When the darkness closes in Lord, still I will say………………..
Blessed be the Name of the Lord!
The Christian comes through hard times. We don’t live there. We have a sure future and that is hope for today!
Take a moment and let it sink in…………………………………………………………………………………………..
