The King is Here!
The Christmas Carol says,
“Joy to the World, the Lord is Come, Let Earth receive her King”.
This is in keeping with the Scripture that speaks of the wise men asking
"Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him." Matthew 2:2
The News of the King coming caused the wise men to marvel and desire to Worship. The Angels of Heaven sang at the announcement of His birth. The prophets of the Old Testament bore witness to the fact that God would send a King after the lineage of David. Now after so many years of waiting, the King is Here!
Tragically, the Earth did not receive her King. More tragic still was the rejection the King received from His own chosen people. The Bible says in John 1:11,“He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him”.
Mankind determined that this King should not rule. He was sentenced to death by crucifixion. The Roman soldiers hung him on a cross. The people mocked him saying “Let this Christ, this King of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe." Mark 15:32
It was on the cross that He breathed His last. The King was dead.
What about the song “Let Earth receive Her King”. Will that day ever come to pass?
The answer is yes. The King was dead but had the power to take back His life. He ascended to Heaven and said that one day He will return to take that which is His. The Old Testament Prophecies about His coming the first time came true. It will be so the second time as well.
“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war.” Revelation 19:11
The King is no longer in the stable. He is awaiting the Father’s instruction to return to the Earth!
The first time he came he was rejected. The next time, He will be reverenced.
Let Earth Receive Her King!
Take a moment and let it sink in………………………………………
